I used Adobe Illustrator to create the image of an expressionless child to portray the constant seesaw
of the struggle of young black children in the inner city, and the uncertainty of actually being able to
pursue “The American Dream”. I added the Superman logo to depict the superhero and strength against all
odds concept. One of my main sources of inspiration was a NAS song with the lyrics “dark boy don't you cry…”
